HypeFest Diary: Meet 88 Killa

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for #HypeFest! HypeFest is this Saturday, June 16th from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m at the Rustic in Dallas!  Help us celebrate our five year anniversary as an agency with live performances from our favorite local artists. Take a look at our HypeFest Diary to get to know the artists performing at the event!

Meet 88 Killa, this Dallas based Hip-Hop/Rap inspired artist whose music is sure to be added to your summer playlist.  88 Killa will be performing at this summers HypeFest! When asked what he is looking forward to about HypeFest he shares that he hopes to bring in some new listeners.

88 Killa is not your average Hip-Hop artist; he has put method to his madness and came up with a unique process behind the hit tunes he produces. He takes inspiration from all that he does and applies it to the music he creates.

“I’ve taken a different approach by pulling from all my inspirations and focusing on showcasing my real, everyday lifestyle rather than hide behind smoke and mirrors.”

88 Killa projects positivity not only with his music but with the lifestyle he leads and music he produces. His fans have always pushed him to work harder, and he wants to use this platform as a way to send out a positive message to those struggling with life's everyday obstacles or those unsure whether or not to pursue a career in the music industry.

88 Killa has grown to know his strengths and weaknesses musically, and as an individual, he thinks it is essential to know the right time to say yes/no and to never be afraid to speak up for those that can’t.  There is one particular message he wants to send out to his fans.

“I want to tell them that it’s perfectly ok to be proud of where you come from and embrace the culture that made you and I strive to do that through visual storytelling in my videos and photo shoots to audio autobiographies within my albums.”

Music was a significant influencer to 88 killa while growing up. He believes his influence to start a career in music is not attributed to just one individual, but rather a combination of decisions, people, and lifestyle choices.

“There hasn’t been a single person that I could give this credit to because I believe that even random encounters with strangers can have just as much of an impact as a deep conversation with someone from my inner circle would have”

#GetHyped and don’t miss 88 Killa perform his one of a kind hits at this year's HypeFest at The Rustic, June 16th, starting at 12 p.m. For more information on 88 Killa, check out his Facebook!  Learn more about the event and artists performing at Hypefest on our Facebook event page & RSVP to save your spot!
