“Search Party,” the debut single off her forthcoming EP, shows off the singer’s ability to write dance-worthy pop hooks

(DALLAS, TEXAS - July 2017; source: CultureHype) – After sparking buzz in the Dallas music scene with her debut EP “Fear No Evil,” locally-based electro-pop artist LEV is ready to release her much-anticipated new single “Search Party” on Friday, Aug. 11. The single highlights the singer’s ability to write dance-worthy pop hooks with deceptively deep lyrics and is the first track off an upcoming album titled “Glass Ceiling” from Holly Peyton, the East Texas native who is the voice and brains behind the rising pop sensation.

“We all need an outlet to let loose and escape reality,” said Peyton. “‘Search Party’ is a perfect reminder that life doesn’t always have to be so serious. Take a deep breath, let your hair down and dance like nobody’s watching.”

The new single features musical staples of LEV’s unique and dynamic style. Booming beats and synths offer throwback vibes to ‘70s disco and ‘80s synth pop, while offering a look into the artist’s bright future in pop music.

“Blending influences from ’80s art-pop…‘Fear No Evil’ was confident and strange, a tapestry of dark, literary, synth-heavy pop songs,” said D Magazine, “Her sound is so polished and crisp, it’s kind of hard to believe she hasn’t already caught on in a big way.”

Before she took her music career to the next level as LEV, Peyton grew up in Tyler, Texas, inspired by artists from the Bee Gees, Fleetwood Mac and Blondie to her contemporaries St. Lucia and The Verve. Her debut EP “Fear No Evil” released in 2015 on Vintage Lion Records was met with high praise from media and those within the industry.

“The popularity of electro-pop shows no signs of slowing down, which is pretty fortunate for an artist like LEV,” said Dallas Observer. “LEV, whose real name is Holly Peyton, has cultivated a synthy, ’80s-influenced sound that people are beginning to notice.”

That same year, LEV was nominated for “Best EP” and “Best Pop Act” at the Dallas Observer Music Awards, and her music videos for songs “Never Let You Go” and “Shadow” have garnered millions of views on VEVO since they premiered worldwide.

Search Party” from LEV’s sophomore EP “Glass Ceiling” will be available for purchase on iTunes and streaming on Spotify on Friday, Aug. 11.

 About LEV:

Electro-pop artist LEV is the brainchild and alter-ego of Tyler, Texas-native Holly Peyton. Named after the Czech word for “lion,” LEV grew out of Peyton’s desire to write and perform the music she wanted instead of the country-pop direction Nashville wanted her to take early in her career. Influenced by the synth-pop sounds of the ‘80s as well as disco, LEV has made a name for herself in the Dallas music scene and beyond. Learn more about LEV at www.levthemusic.com.
