Techstars’ Dallas Startup Week Expands Beyond Downtown, Presents New Tracks

DSW 2018 to take place from April 2-6 with expected audience of 7,000 attendees

(DALLAS, February 2018; source: CultureHype) Techstars’ Dallas Startup Week (DSW) is preparing for its fourth annual five-day entrepreneurial getaway that gives attendees the opportunity to get further plugged into the Dallas community. This year, DSW is hoping to build on last year’s success of over 5,500 registrants and bring in a whopping 7,000 attendees. With 14 confirmed event tracks and Chase for Business as the headlining Sponsor, the personal growth and networking possibilities will be endless. Other key sponsors include: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, BCG, Zendesk, Worldwide Express, Salesforce, and Thomson Reuters

In addition, DSW will be reaching new heights by spreading its sessions and programming across the region, from Dallas to Fort Worth, Frisco, Denton, and Addison. This way, individuals, companies and local organizations from different cities can get involved and have more accessibility to the opportunities offered by DSW.

“I think what we need to do to effectively showcase and highlight who we are as a region and what our companies are doing, we need to recognize we’re not just one city of entrepreneurs,” said Trey Bowles, co-founder and CEO of The DEC and lead organizer for DSW, in an interview with Dallas Innovates. “We’re a 9,200-square-mile region of entrepreneurs.”

With a wide array of speakers covering every track, a multitude of local and regional entrepreneurs, community leaders, investors and businesses are suiting up to attend or speak at sessions and events taking place throughout the week. The Dallas Entrepreneur Center and the leadership team of volunteers will be playing an integral role in helping facilitate the flow and effectiveness of the sessions.

This year’s tracks will include the topics Art and Music, Gaming, Health, IoT, Legal, and Real Estate with correlating sessions such as “How to Build A Music City,” “A Happy Marriage,” “Hospital Innovation,” “Smart Cities,” “Starting a Business,” and “Real Estate Disrupter.” The new tracks presented this year are Capital/Funding, Corporate Innovation, Digital Marketing and Emerging Technology.

“The reason we picked the new ones (tracks) is because we think it effectively reflects what’s going on in the marketplace not only on a national level, but specifically in our community,” Bowles said. Dallas is among over 47 cities from around the world that hosts free opportunities like Dallas Startup Week with the mission to unite local and regional entrepreneurs, leaders and communities.
